Summary/Objective
Under the direction of the Training Supervisor, the Training Specialist will aid the Training Supervisor in creating training programs and curriculum for both internal staff and Partner Intake Sites.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Coordinate the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs and ongoing learning opportunities for internal CEDA staff and external partners, working under the direction of the Quality and Training Manager and the Training Supervisor.Conduct Partner Site Intake training programs which include registration, instruction, testing.Conduct training based on the training goals and objectives set by the Quality and Training Manager and Training Supervisor.Collaborate with internal staff to assess ongoing training needs as business initiatives, policies, procedures, and regulations change.Create training aids and materials.Develop multimedia visual aids and presentations to support training curricula.Create internal and external testing and certification processes in coordination with the Training Supervisor.Complete all necessary documentation and reports related to training.Advise and report to Training Supervisor on compliance issues, including the need for corrective actions concerning training objectives.Maintain personnel training records.Design training programs using recognized training techniques and tools.Conduct surveys from trainees and stakeholders after each training session.Provide "Train the Trainer" sessions to Team Leads and Partnership Coordinators.All other duties as assigned.Competencies
Strong communications skills, including the ability to speak and write effectively and professionally.Strong customer service skills, including the ability to remain flexible and calm in high-pressure or continually changing situations.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Adobe Suite, and various modes of training.Excellent interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignmentsAble to coordinate and conduct training programs.Proficiency with translating complex program requirements into relevant training for varied audiences.Ability to relate to personnel and clients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.Required Education and Experience
Minimum Associate's Degree or 3 years' experience in a customer service environment with adult TrainingPreferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degreeKnowledge of learning management systems and web delivery toolsBilingual in English and Spanish.Non-profit organization experience a plus.Work Environment
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, electronic devices or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work are normally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, schedule may change based on program needs; some weekends may be required.
Travel
Ability to travel frequently within Cook County, and outside the county when necessary. Candidate must have regular access to an automobile, and must possess and maintain an applicable Illinois Driver's License and auto insurance that meets the State requirement.
