Job description :The Transportation Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of transportation services across member districts. Under the supervision of the Transportation Manager, this position is responsible for assigning, scheduling, and van routes. The Transportation Coordinator maintains accurate data in the Transportation Information Management System (TIMS), dispatches drivers, manages callouts, and resolves scheduling challenges to ensure efficient and safe transportation for all students.

Major Responsibilities:

Maintain up-to-date records in the Transportation Information Management System (TIMS), ensuring accurate route and driver information.Generate and update route sheets, and substitute driver schedules within TIMS.Dispatch drivers, and assign routes, ensuring timely and efficient transportation services.Monitor daily callouts and help resolve any scheduling conflicts by arranging substitute drivers and monitor as needed.Ensure all routes are adequately staffed and respond swiftly to any last-minute changes or emergencies.Serve as a point of contact for drivers and school district personnel regarding transportation issues.Notify the district's special services office, parents/guardians, and other necessary parties in the event of accidents or incidents involving student transportation.Assist in maintaining and organizing department records, and files.Ensure all records are accurate and filed appropriately.Attend all required meetings and program workshops to stay current on policies, procedures, and best practices in transportation coordination.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation or the Transportation Manager.Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings or early mornings.Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.Knowledge and Skills Required :

Minimum of a high school diplomaProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word and ExcelFamiliar with the use of GPS tracking systemsStrong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, district personnel, students, and parents.Demonstrated ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations professionallyWorking Conditions :
