Position Overview:The Accounting Manager - Federal Services will be responsible for overseeing and managing all accounting functions related to Intuitive Machines' federal contracts, primarily with NASA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in a NASA or Department of Defense (DoD) environment, and proficiency in Deltek Costpoint is essential. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a deep understanding of federal contracting regulations and cost accounting standards
Key Responsibilities:Manage the full accounting cycle for federal contracts, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (FAR, DFARS, CAS) and internal policies.Lead the preparation and submission of financial reports, billing, and other contract-related documentation for NASA contracts.Ensure accurate cost allocation and revenue recognition for all federal projects in accordance with GAAP and CAS.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for the Federal Services division including the preparation and processing of all close-related journal entries and financial reporting.Manage indirect rate calculations and ensure proper allocation of overhead and general & administrative expenses.Coordinate with project managers, contract administrators, and other departments to ensure accurate financial management and reporting.Provide support during DCAA and other external audits, ensuring that all required documentation is prepared and accessible.Maintain and enhance financial systems, including proficiency in Deltek Costpoint, to improve efficiency and accuracy in federal contract accounting.Monitor and report on project financial performance, identifying potential financial risks and opportunities.Mentor and manage accounting staff, providing guidance and professional developmentQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 5 years focused on federal government contracting (NASA/DoD).Strong knowledge of Deltek Costpoint and experience managing accounting functions for federal contracts required.Thorough understanding of FAR, DFARS, and CAS, with experience in DCAA audits.Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of accounting professionals.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Critical Skills:
Experience with NASA contracts, including financial reporting and compliance requirements.Advanced knowledge of indirect rate structuring and financial planning for federal contracts.
