Electrician—Data Center-1st Shift Monday-Friday (7am-3pm)

Job Descriptions

The Data Center Electrician is responsible for the operations of the Data Center power infrastructure.

This includes but not limited to:

Managing all power planning, layouts to data cabinets.

Testing, installing and managing the capacity on the power strips and its associated breaker within the data cabinet.

Testing and powering up receptacles under a four foot raised floor. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl under the four foot raised floor.

Working with facilities to insure all servers/devices have the correct cooling design, correct temperatures at the cabinet are meet.

Work with Facilities to maintain and document all new power and installs associated with it. This includes the use of computer based programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, Nlyte (data center infrastructure management) etc.

Responsible for the operation and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment within the data center.

It may also include troubleshooting electrical problems, restoring power when failures occur. Operating electrical breakers and distribution gear including UPS, ATS, and generators as need.

Installing and maintain lighting and controls for lighting.

Small projects that include installing conduit and wiring.

Responsible to respond to customer requests, submit and close work orders, and perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Graduate of applicable Electrical Technical School such as the IBEW Joint Apprenticeship Program

Military equivalent and two years minimum same or similar work experience.

High school education or equivalent and three years minimum same or similar work experience.

Minimum of Five years’ work experience

Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPA.

Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.

Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.

Can work independently and consistently achieve results.

Communicate effectively, writing and verbally, with clients and peers.

Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and some night work.

Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl under a four foot raised floor.
