Who We Are St Johns Episcopal Hospital is the only hospital providing emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated culturally and economically diverse and medically underserved populations of the Rockaways and Five Towns in southern Queens County and southwestern Nassau County New York Celebrating over 110 years of community care the 257 bed facility provides people of all faiths with comprehensive preventive diagnostic treatment and rehabilitative services regardless of ability to pay Come Grow With Us Type Full Time 75 hours biweekly Shift Nights Hours 800 PM 630 AM Salary 125000 135000 Job Description Administrator on Duty AOD is responsible for the overall management of hospital operations during assigned shifts The AOD serves as a key point of contact for staff patients and families addressing concerns and facilitating effective communication among departments Responsibilities Monitor daily hospital operations to ensure efficient workflow and high quality patient careConduct rounds to all patient care areas and support areasSupervise and support staff during shifts providing guidance and assistance as neededServe as a resource for staff in resolving patient care issues and concerns ensuring timely and appropriate interventionsRespond to patient and family inquiries complaints and feedback facilitating resolution and maintaining patient satisfactionAct as the primary point of contact during emergencies coordinating response efforts and ensuring adherence to emergency protocolsParticipate in drills and training related to emergency preparedness and responseEnsure compliance with hospital policies procedures and regulatory requirements during assigned shiftsFacilitate effective communication between departments ensuring that all staff are informed of relevant updates and changesPrepare and submit reports on operational issues incidents and patient care concerns to senior leadershipParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of best practices within the hospitalRequirements Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration required; Masters degree preferred2 5 years of experience in a healthcare management or administrative role preferably in a hospital settingStrong leadership communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to make quick informed decisions in high pressure situationsKnowledge of healthcare regulations compliance standards and quality improvement processes
