After Brightline Florida completed the first passenger rail system connecting Miami and Orlando, Brightline West was formed to connect Las Vegas and Southern California through the nation’s first true high-speed, electric passenger rail system. Reaching speeds of more than 186 miles per hour, this 218-mile high-speed rail service will take passengers from Las Vegas to the Greater Los Angeles area twice as fast as the normal drive time.

SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager, Utilities for Brightline West Rancho Cucamonga to Las Vegas High-Speed Rail service will be responsible for managing a large-scale program including provision or power and resolving utility conflicts for a 220-mile rail corridor, passenger stations and a vehicle maintenance facility. Utilities include third party communications fiber optic systems; power distribution and transmission; gas; water; storm water and sewer conveyance systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Establishment of productive and cooperative relationships with all utility owners affected by the project.Organize and establish overall scope and schedule for utility relocations for BLW alignment in California and Nevada.Review Utility Work Plans and get approvals from utility owners and third-party stake holders (Caltrans, Metrolink, SBCTA, etc.).Lead or facilitate meetings involving utility specific activities.Manage the procurement process to plan and execute the relocation work required to be performed by BLW (primarily power and telecom).Review and negotiate agreements and associated cost estimates for relocation design and construction.Maintain database of all correspondence with utilities.Maintain proficiency with Caltrans and NDOT utility relocation practices and procedures.Ability to perform moderate algebraic calculations in all units of measure. This includes vertical curve, horizontal curve, and grading slope / elevation design calculation capabilities.Ability to effectively present information in a group situation to executive management, and other employees of the organization.Ability to prepare technical reports, memorandums, design specifications, construction bid documents.Ability to read and comprehend construction improvement plans, specifications, technical supporting documents and reports.Ability to work effectively with diverse work groups including co-workers, clients, vendors, etc.Cooperate in all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all times.REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.Demonstrated large scale utility protection and relocation management experience.10-15 years’ experience in utility management in the design and/or construction industry with minimum 5 years of experience on a major design-build project.The position will be based in Las Vegas, NV or Ontario, CA and will require both office and field work.Fluency with Microsoft Office software.Demonstrated ability to work within project team and to achieve project objectivesPre-existing working relationship with multiple Utility carriers in the California/Nevada market including electric, telecommunications, and other.Technical and administrative competence.Demonstrated experience developing, managing and controlling a utilities budget and schedule for a mega-project.Successful experience working as part of a large team of consultants and contractors.Identification with project goals, and determination to succeed.Communication skills are attuned to a broad audience touching the utility company, technical, administrative, financial, and political environments.Team player with a focus on internal customer satisfaction.
