PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The HR Supervisor oversees the day-to-day departmental activities, administering human resources programs with emphasis on employment and employee relations matters, salaried recruiting and supervisor coaching and training. This role communicates and interprets company human resource policies and procedures for managers and employees in compliance with company policies and Federal and State legal requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:Oversee the day-to-day activities in the Human Resources department to ensure work is completed in compliance with company policies and procedures and all Federal, State and local legal requirementsCounsel and guide managers on appropriate performance management measures; assist managers in writing corrective action memos and other documentation; attend or conduct corrective action sessions and follow-up as necessaryAdvise managers and supervisors of state and federal regulations and effective human resource practices with regard to employee issuesCoordinate recruitment process for salaried (exempt and non-exempt) openings including sourcing, screening and interviewing; ensure offers are made in accordance with procedures and are available in Workday; coordinate new hire paperwork accurately and conduct new hire salaried employee orientation, apprising employees of policies and benefit optionsIdentify employee needs with regard to performance problems, training options, and career development and make recommendations accordinglyProvide human resources-related training addressing areas such as performance counseling and employee relations issuesResearch employee complaints and grievances if applicable, taking appropriate action for resolution as requiredGather and compile data, creating required reports (CERP, Retention, etc.), and communicate to appropriate personnel in a timely manner as neededAdminister NOCTI program including testing, recording scores, promotions and subsequent pay increases based on passing levelsIdentify and communicate opportunities for process improvement to streamline processes and improve efficiencyMentor, coach and train/ cross-train employees encouraging career development; provide consistent feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvementFollow and promote all safety initiatives, (i.e. wear appropriate PPE in areas where mandatory) helping to maintain a zero accident culturePerform additional relevant duties as assignedSUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role is a Leader of People role with required competencies: Sizing up People, Delegation, Planning, Customer Focus and Conflict ManagementEDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline from an accredited institution preferredCombination of Education and experience may be substituted for degreeEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Minimum two (2) years progressively responsible experience in the human resources field with emphasis on employment, employee relations, and/or benefitsDemonstrated one (1) years' leadership experience including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence, conflict resolution and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively; experience supervising employees preferredMust have the ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written, with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner; ability to communicate in multiple languages preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritizeAbility to work effectively with others, possessing tact and discretion and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality in all mattersMust have strong computer skills: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, to format reports, presentations, spreadsheets, graphics, etc.; experience within HCM system such as Workday preferredSelf-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environmentSAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of timeAbility to work non-standard hours (i.e. holidays, weekends and/or extended shifts) as needed per business need
