Federal Programs – Property & Buildings
Project Director
for our
Washington, DC
office. The following offices will also be considered:
Pittsburgh, PA; Tacoma, WA; Denver, CO; San Diego, CA.; Virginia Beach, VA; and San Antonio, TX
.
The role requires involvement with projects supporting our fast-growing
Federal Programs Team
and will be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. This is a global role and requires a global mindset.
Responsibilities of the Project Director include:
Work closely with the Program Managers, Client Care Leaders as well as Planning Team Director.
Will report to the District Leader and will work closely with other Operations Manager(s).
Lead the Project Managers who coordinate with the Practice Delivery Manager on various federal contracts to assist them in staffing delivery teams.
Effectively manage a growing team of AEP Project Managers in the delivery and execution of federal projects. Projects will include Design/Bid/Build & Design/Build Delivery methods.
Direct Reports for this role will include Project Managers and Deputy Project Managers, who may be located in offices throughout the US.
This position will also include billable work for our clients as a Project Manager as workload allows. Mentoring and advising project managers and deputy project managers in project execution as well as business acumen.
The Project Director is responsible for establishing, maintenance, and growth of current and new strategic client relationships. Significant existing federal client relationships will be considered in review of qualifications.
In addition, the Project Director will coordinate with the Regional Project Delivery Leader to ensure projects and programs are delivered in accordance with WSP policies and procedures, in accordance with revenue and margin metrics determined at the time of contract award, and where necessary, will engage the RPDL for assistance on challenged projects.
Your Impact
Responsible for performance of assigned Project Managers with regards to:
Program/Project financials including monthly project reviews & forecasting,
Support during fee proposals and pursuits to company standards.
Management and pursuit of CPARS process.
Management of Subconsultants and compliance with internal and external Project Audit (PMP, Quality, Safety, Risk Management, Contracts, Training, etc)
Project Audit compliance (PMP, Quality, Safety, Risk Management, Contracts, Training, etc)
KPI Metrics attainment.
Client management/coordination/assistance.
Project review responsibilities for projects performed by other PM’s that are not direct reports.
Coordination Assurance of the Quality Control Processes.
Personnel Management (“Realize Your Potential”, Yearly reviews, Time Cards, Expense Reports, Mentoring, etc.) of assigned staff.
Occasional business development/SF330/TORN development support as necessary.
Potential Client Care Manager for assigned clients.
Standardization of Project Manager processes for execution of work.
Mentoring/management of Project Managers and deputy project managers.
Maintain Utilization and equal distribution of work amongst Staff.
Program/Project Management duties, as necessary.
Assist with Potential M&A Integration.
Personnel Management (recruiting/hiring/training/evaluations/etc.).
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct.
Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Actively engage in problem-solving to ensure timely resolutions.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or architecture or related degree.
15+ years’ experience in consulting, engineering, program management and/or business development to the federal government (DOD).
5+ years' experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering/architectural teams.
Professional registration US licensed Architect or Engineer.
Ability to obtain a US Government issued Secret level Security Clearance.
Strong knowledge and overall understanding of DOD clients; US contracting industry; knowledge of Federal budgeting, industry business drivers and motivators.
Experience leading strategy and marketing for Federal acquisitions; demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams and a variety of stakeholders, and in developing and executing strategies to deliver business results,
Excellent knowledge and experience of servicing client needs and effective program planning and execution.
Demonstrated track record of managing large and complex opportunities and pursuits.
Strong business development skills with attention to win strategies and differentiators.
Strong negotiation skills.
Proven ability to communicate and under limited time constraints.

Active US Government issued Secret clearance.

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $157,000 - $300,410
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
Expected Salary (Colorado only): $168,000-$281,930
