Fairfield CARES Project Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Service, Public Health, or related Field, two years of relevant experience in alcohol and drug prevention work, or any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge, abilities and skills listed below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Fairfield Cares Project Director will lead and manage grant writing and administration for the Drug-Free Community Support Program (DFC grant), working closely with the coalition and Fairfield Public Schools to plan and implement substance abuse prevention initiatives. This role requires expertise in prevention principles, the SPF/SIG prevention model, coalition building, strategic and community development, program evaluation, and youth engagement. The Director will strengthen coalition efforts to reduce youth alcohol and drug use by building partnerships across local sectors, organizing meetings, sharing resources, and coordinating training. Additional responsibilities include supporting sustainability efforts, facilitating data collection and analysis for the DFC grant, and assisting in community-wide substance misuse education programs. Key skills include strong organization, effective communication, public speaking, and the ability to engage diverse audiences in group facilitation. Proficiency in MS Office, internet applications, and the ability to learn new concepts quickly are essential. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of independent work, and experienced in working with diverse populations.
SALARY:
$67,800 - $72,800 annually, 12-month position
