The Project Accountant compiles customer billings for large, complex, multi-million-dollar projects and is responsible for the day-to-day accounting of project financials. This position will be the point of contact for subcontractors and customers in the areas of billing, compliance, and payments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions.Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects and proprietary information.Work closely with project managers on the issuance of subcontracts, change orders, and warranty documents.Review and finalize subcontractor billings and payments, ensure compliance of documentation required by the related contracts.Review owner/customer contracts to understand accounting and documentation requirements for Clark Pacific and ensure adherence to contract requirements.Responsible for the Accounts Receivable collection process and communicate status to project managers, subcontractors and accounting manager.Reconcile customer and subcontractor accounts and communicate issues to management.Complete all billing and related tasks in internal programs (Viewpoint) to reflect real-time data.Coordinate with outside insurance broker for project specific insurance certificates and bonds as required.Communicate cross departmentally to ensure the accuracy of information and that timelines are met.Prepare ad hoc reports as requested.Coordinate with Payroll Compliance to ensure certified payroll and other compliance are met.Partner with FP&A to support cash forecast.Other duties as assigned.

Skills and AbilitiesFamiliarity and knowledge of construction accounting.Familiarity in Cost Accounting and Accounts Payable standards/processes.Ability to coordinate finance activities and manage reporting, budgets, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and payroll.Familiarity in OCIP/CCIP enrollment in portals such as AJG, VUE Wrap, or WTW Compass.Proven capacity to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to effectively listen and engage with all levels of the organization.Builds strong relationships; engages and motivates teams representing diverse backgrounds and viewpoints; exceptionally collaborative.Ability to maintain attentiveness to detail and accuracy in multiple projects without losing sight of goals and deadlines.Excellent organization skills to drive topics with multiple stakeholders/interests.Strong problem solving and analytical skills that aim to remedy and prevent reoccurrence and allow for strategic data interpretation versussimple reporting.Comfortable escalating issues while maintaining positive relationships with team members and other organizations.Passionate about Clark Pacific's vision and mission; able to promote, demonstrate, and communicate the mission, values and core competenciesof Clark Pacific to others.Able to exercise appropriate discretion when handling confidential and/or sensitive information.Display willingness and interest in stepping up into greater leadership role if the situation requires or the opportunity presents itself.Proficient with Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite programs.Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, ViewPoint by Vista, Textura or other construction accounting software.

Physical DemandsFrequent: Sitting at desk, utilizing computers/phones, standing/walkingPeriodic: Repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movementsOccasional: Business travel, 5%. Bending squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Experience and EducationMinimum of 3 years' experience in accounting role required.Familiarity with construction accounting is preferred.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance related field is preferred.
