is seeking a
Junior Training and Adult Learning Specialist
to support the5-year United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance Support Contract (BHASC).
The Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) is the lead federal coordinator for international disaster assistance. BHA provides and coordinates U.S. Government (USG) international humanitarian assistance to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the physical, social, and economic impact of rapid and slow-onset disasters by supporting at-risk populations to build stable foundations to withstand humanitarian shocks and stresses. EnCompass is a subcontractor to Credence Management Solutions and is leading the training and learning support activities for BHA. The BHA Training and Learning Team works under the technical direction of BHA's Office of Humanitarian Business & Management Operations.
The Jr. Training and Adult Learning Specialist will contribute to the development, design, facilitation, production, evaluation, and reporting on training and learning activities including instructor-led sessions (in-person, virtual, and hybrid), digital learning (e-learning, podcasts, videos), and supporting materials.
They will support the design, development and delivery of courses, activities, programming and other learning events for the Training Unit with additional support as needed to other Teams, Divisions, Offices, and operating units within the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance staff in Washington, DC and globally. The candidate must be passionate about supporting USAID's BHA and Missions with leadership and on-demand technical expertise to design and support programs contributing to the achievement of U.S. Government humanitarian objectives.
This is a full-time position located at the USAID/BHA office in downtown Washington, DC and follows USAID's hybrid work model with split time between telework and the office. USAID's return to work requirement is currently 3 days in person per week. The exact schedule of days required to be in the office will be determined by the BHASC Task Lead and Training Unit Manager in coordination with USAID/BHA. Eligible candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship. It is required to have at least US permanent residency with the ability to obtain and maintain Facility Access Clearance or have US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.Position Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential functions:

Contribute to the design, development and delivery of dynamic, experiential learning programs using creative, innovative and evidence-based approachesContribute to the creation of storyboards and design of e-tools, e-learning courses, and videosCollaborate with subject-matter experts to develop innovative learning programs and activitiesHelp prepare and organize learning resources, ensuring content is up-to-date and accessibleContribute to data collection for needs assessments and evaluations, using mixed methods approachesAssist in gathering and analyzing participant feedback to inform improvements to training programsSupport the implementation of evaluation tools, such as surveys and assessments, to measure learning effectivenessSupport technical delivery of projects from design to implementationAssist in setting up training sessions, including handling logistics and technology needs for both virtual and in-person sessionsSupport the preparation of graphic-rich reports and presentationsSupport the facilitation of in-person, virtual, and hybrid eventsSupport staff engagement with EnCompass media studio, including orienting staff and operating audio-visual equipment (onsite or offsite) use of media studioDevelop and maintain positive and productive relationships with project stakeholders with guidance and mentorship of senior staffSupport healthy client engagement, and develop effective communication skills with clients, team members, and other stakeholders with the support and guidance of senior staffSupport the production of virtual and hybrid session deliveries as neededOther:
