Job TitleAssistant Dean of Campus Life
Nature of Work
Peru State College is looking for an Assistant Dean of Campus Life (ADCL) who will be responsible for providing support and oversight for student engagement opportunities for our students.
The student campus-life experience plays a significant role in overall recruitment and retention initiatives. This individual will work closely with Student Activities and Residence Life areas to support and enhance the student experience. The ADLC will play an integral role in the development of programs and services that support campus life and student recruitment and retention and will provide and support co-curricular development on and off campus. This position would be exempt regarding FLSA overtime provisions.
Duties include but are not limited to oversight of Resident Assistants and Senior Resident Assistants and oversight of hall programming and will work with the Residence Life staff to support the student move-in/out processes. This individual will oversee Intramural and Club Sport Programming and will serve as the leader for the Welcome Week Committee for new student arrival. Will assist with the Conduct Board and training individuals to serve on the conduct board and assist with judicial conduct for both residential and non-residential students. Will co-chair the campus behavioral intervention team to support students who may be struggling on or off campus.
Examples of Work Performed
1. Oversee RAs and Senior RAs. Oversee hall programming with RA staff to support growth and development for residential students.2. Help support beginning and end of semester move-in/out and help coordinate Fall move-in with Residence Life.3. Oversee Intramural and Club Sport Programming. Oversee student workers, advisors, and implementation of all events with Intramurals and Club Sports. Oversee the Director of Student Activities and Programs.4. Serve as the leader for Welcome Week Committee for new student arrival.5. Assist AVPSA with the Conduct Board and training individuals on the conduct board. Assist with judicial conduct for both residential and non-residential students.6. Co-Chair the campus behavioral intervention team with AVPSA to support students who may be struggling on or off campus.7. Provide and support co-curricular development on and off campus.8. Other job-related duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs.
Required Qualifications• Master's degree required.• 5 years prior experience in higher education, preferably in student affairs
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, have strong organizational skills, and have the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
