Performs varied clerical and secretarial duties requiring a knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office. Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the students, staff and administrative staff. Works fairly independently, receiving minimum supervision and guidance.
HOURS PER DAY: 2SCHOOL YEAR POSITION (204 DAYS / 10 MONTHS)ANTICIPATED START DATE:

PREFFERED QUALIFICIATIONS:• Willingness and ability to create connections with students who may struggle at school and need additional adult relationships to be successful.• Demonstrated commitment to maintain confidentiality in workings of the office as pertains to student, parent and staff interactions and situations.• Interest in and experience with working in a team atmosphere, where office members assist one another depending on particular needs and situations.• Experience with Microsoft Office suite including WORD, Excel and Publisher.• Experience creating, proofreading, and publishing newsletters, flyers and other communications for constituencies.• Positive and supportive presence in phone communications and in-person interactions with various school staff and stakeholders.• Interest in working additional hours as projects and needs arise.Responsibilities
Assist in the operation of administrative and student offices in support of school and staff, ensuring a positive, professional image. This includes greeting students, staff, visitors and callers, handling their inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.Maintain communication with staff, students, and parents and community.Maintain student records and cumulative files for incoming, current and transfer students. This may include demographic information, grades, assessment results, immunization records, student learning plans, IEPS, files, and vision and hearing.Maintain and administer student attendance records and programs, ensuring accuracy for school, district and state reports.Maintain student lunch accounts for mealtime program at site, including collections and low balance reminders.Handle collections and banking of monies; including financial activities and special events.Organize confidential records, supplies, and equipment for principal, staff, and students.Assist with minor medical injuries, illnesses and may administer medication for students.Other related duties as assigned.Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional secretarial courses preferred.Minimum two years of recent secretarial or clerical work experience required, with School District experience preferred.Ability to accurately type 40 words per minute.Basic level knowledge of general computer skills, including Microsoft office programs, payroll software, financial software (i.e., Intouch), nutrition services software (i.e., Mosaic), single point of entry software, and student information system (i.e., PowerSchool) experience preferred.First Aid card preferred.Additional Information
Work Schedule - Days and hours (listed above) are subject to change depending on program and district needs.Stipends, Leave Accruals and Holidays - Stipends, leaves and paid holidays are in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement () as negotiated.Benefits Highlights:The Program administers health insurance and other benefits for employees of Washington School districts who are in benefit eligible positions (at least half-time/20 hours per week in a regular position).

Employees can also participate in voluntary savings programs to increase retirement savings such as the DRS Deferred Compensation Program or by participating in a 403(b)-retirement plan through the district's plan manager, OMNI.
