Summary:
The Category Manager - Global Sourcing is fully responsible for the overall strategy, growth and performance to ensure optimal sales and profitability of the category. The Category Manager holds roles in Sales, Procurement, Market Analytics and partners with multiple departments including, but not limited to: Production, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Inventory Control and Finance.
Demonstrating key competencies in strategy, analytics, collaboration, and communication, you will create a sales strategy for the season, based on your analysis of the current market conditions. You will champion your strategy to all sales and procurement team members and partner with processing team members to strategize best outcomes for all items in your category. You will continually follow up on the execution of all sales activities through all sales channels throughout the company.

As a team member, you are adept at building positive relationships across multiple departments, working collaboratively to communicate tasks, implement changes, improve business performance, and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Be an expert in your assigned category.
Budget and create the sales and execution plan of the represented category. This includes but not limited to the sales plan for how we go to market by period, by product form, by customer, by branch, by price, and by cost.
Drive category placements for all items within the category and eliminate unprofitable items
Communicate changing market conditions, develop price forecasts for market drivers and weekly talking points for the sales team.
Responsible for maintaining supply for the category and sourcing from outside vendors when needed, as well as assisting in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing and procurement processes managed throughout the sales network.
Monitor sales for margin accuracy.
Become an expert on assigned Pacific Seafood managed programs. Understanding full product specifications, sourcing model, seasonality, and product variations in order to work directly with producers and processors to manage all sourcing of assigned Pacific Seafood managed programs.
Visit Distribution and Processing facilities periodically to facilitate the growth and strategic direction of the category.
Assist with negotiations with vendors as applicable for the procurement of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
Manage supplier service levels, quotations, product projections, fill rates, and q/c issues.
Develop new supply sources and group programs when assigned and where vendors or item offerings are inadequate.
Review monthly financial and management reports related to the category.
Attend business reviews with top key accounts, as needed.
Follow and enforce good safety practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to Pacific Seafood:
Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 8 years of progressive category management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated expert level knowledge of category management and possess a proven track record of building successful, sustainable categories.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time or more, as required.
Preferred:
Prior experience in data analysis, forecasting methods, and strategic modeling.
Prior seafood category management experience.
Master’s degree in business administration is preferred.
