Procurement Category Manager - Farm Salmon

Duties: Manages and coordinates the successful market performance of Pacific Seafood’s farmed salmon product category, ensuring strategies and tactics are aligned with organizational objectives, while partnering with multiple departments, including production, sales, marketing, quality assurance, inventory control, and finance, to achieve goals. Responsibilities:

Work closely with marketing, sales, finance, and distribution departments to educate these groups about international issues and the process.

Cooperate with accounts receivable & collections team in enforcing company credit policies and payment terms.

Work closely with all internal teams when sourcing to ensure maximum group strength.

Focus on developing direct sourcing on all products.

Identify specifications required by markets.

Document and manage detailed specifications on all managed items.

Develop brands as appropriate on targeted product lines.

Work with marketing to develop professional point of sale material.

Execute on product presentations and training seminars for all selling areas of the company.

Maintain direct contact with key account buyers throughout market areas.

Maintain excellent fully communicative relationships with all distribution buying and selling teams.

Manage inventory to maintain the balance between sales and inventory.

Maintain an updated discontinued and overstock spreadsheet published to the team weekly.

Ensure ongoing systemized quality assurance inspections are conducted on all managed programs; target one per quarter.

Monitor product performance throughout the supply chain.

Track sales, margin, and pounds performance on all managed items.

Participate directly in annual sales budgeting and forecasting, by selling area down to the customer level.

Provide updated detailed price list weekly to our entire buying and selling teams.

Maintain out front and extended pricing programs.

Monitor and understand local, domestic and world markets on all managed programs.

Work to maximize margins through market movements by strategically positioning against market advances.

Identify and manage to consistent market indicators to set our groups weekly pricing.

Understand international currency as it relates to purchasing.

Manage all aspects of freight associated with getting managed programs to market.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign degree equivalent in Marketing or Business Administration/Management, or a closely related discipline; and 5 years of experience in the farm salmon industry as an account manager or sales manager, or similar role, to include product category management, accounts management, and sales experience at a national or large territorial level.

Travel Requirement: Business travel both domestic and international – Domestic: 8 trips per year; International: 2 trips per year.
