The Headlines:
The Graphics Specialist is responsible for bringing design intent to life by orchestrating the setup, testing and production of creative solutions across multiple packaging substrates. Their scope of responsibility includes prepress development, color management, image carrier production, print reproduction integrity and supplier qualifications. They drive consistent, high-quality results that accurately translate brand strategies from initial press run through the lifecycle of the brand design. They support brand teams by providing color and production guidance throughout design development, ensuring understanding of potential issues and production feasibility. The contributions by the Graphics Specialists result in cost efficiencies as potential production issues are identified prior to full production. Their cross-functional understanding of different team objectives gives them the savvy and agility to get packaging successfully executed in a high volume, fast-paced setting.
The Responsibilities:
Color and Print ExpertiseUnderstands and effectively applies knowledge of color and printing on different substrates to achieve consistent results compatible with approved design intent.Recognizes differences in print processes and how design elements may need to be modified to achieve the best final result.Utilizes empirical knowledge to help advise on relevant historical context related to MC brand packaging and print technology.Counsels agencies on use of color and effect their selections have on the final printed piece.Assists Procurement and Corporate Quality in the evaluation of supplier print quality.People, Process and Project Management
Directs the prioritization, timelines, estimates and schedules for the production of all packaging projectsAdvises brand teams on pilot press runs and color proofing expectations and outcomes while recommending next steps based on results.Partners with Design Manager to assess feasibility of design when considering elements of successful production.Facilitates open dialogue with cross-functional teams including, but not limited to, Project Management, R&D, creative agencies and print vendors to ensure that budgets, timelines and resources are in alignment throughout the course of a project.Partners with R&D and Project Management to facilitate brewery, corporate and cost-savings initiatives involving die lines, substrates, graphic changes, ZPCK requests, etc.Pushes self and others to exceed expectations and achieve executional excellence.Implement/maintain packaging color standards program and monitors the compliance of printers and pre-press suppliers.The Other Qualifications:
Bachelor's or 2 year technical degree (or related field) with a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in prepress, printing and color management across multiple printing processes preferred.Experience in the consumer packaged goods industry preferred.Problem-solving, scheduling, estimating and organizational skills with attention to detail.Professional communication skills are essential, as well as a high level of cross-functional collaboration, process management, business partnering and integrity.Work Perks that You Need to Know About:
