Regularly review client medical records and correspond with treating doctors and medical providers to ensure that clients are receiving the recommended medical treatment. Calendaring appointments, deadlines, scheduling meetings, depositions and mediations Creating deposition, mediation, and trial notebooks for use throughout the life of the case. Preparing for and attending trials by organizing exhibits, files and all other case documents, coordinating trial set-up and logistics, assisting attorneys in the courtroom by taking notes, handling exhibits, and marking documents referred to by counsel, assisting in the preparation of witness testimony, and serving as a liaison between trial attorneys and in-house staff. Consulting with expert witnesses, clients, medical providers, and vendors. Tracking, creating, and maintaining medical bill summaries for each client. E-Filing Working with lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure deadlines are met and cases are proceeding to trial or mediation on timely basis. Communicating with clients on a regular basis to keep them apprised of case developments and to ensure they are attending all medical appointments. Copying, scanning and mailing case documents and correspondence. Performing basic legal research using Westlaw Requirements/Qualifications: Three plus years’ experience as a paralegal, case manager or legal assistant Experience reviewing medical records from treating doctors and medical providers and assisting with the coordination of medical treatment. Trial experience is desirable but not required. Thorough knowledge of Texas state rules, procedures, and deadlines Overtime possible when necessary.
