Job Description Legal Assistant Job Location: San Antonio, TX (In-person) Job Type: Full-time Pay: Competitive Pay This is an excellent opportunity to work for Davis & Santos, PLLC, a law firm of attorneys dedicated to client satisfaction, performance and results. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing a full range of legal administrative support to at least one partner and one associate in a timely and efficient manner in the firm’s new office in Boerne, Texas. This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for performing superior work in the best interest of our clients. Summary We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Legal Assistant with proven experience to provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys and legal teams. The ideal candidate would have a solid background in legal processes, document management, client interaction and will help ensure the smooth functioning of the office and legal case management. Duties and Responsibilities • Assist attorneys with managing day-to-day operations, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements • Maintain accurate and organized legal files, both physical and electronic • Prepare and format legal documents such as correspondence, contracts, pleadings, and reports. • Draft and proofread legal documents including contracts, affidavits, and legal briefs • Prepare and file legal documents with courts and agencies, ensuring compliance with filing requirements and deadlines • Assist in preparing reports, client updates, and summaries of legal proceedings • Communicate effectively with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters • Assist with client intake, providing case updates, and responding to inquiries • Assist attorneys with case research, gathering relevant case law, statutes, and legal documents • Manage case files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring timely submission of filings • Coordinate discovery processes, including document production and responses to discovery requests • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing case files, preparing exhibits, and assembling trial binders • Coordinate logistics for court appearances, depositions, and witness interviews Qualifications • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, paralegal studies, or a related field preferred • Paralegal certification is an advantage but not required • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm or legal department. • Familiarity with legal terminology, legal procedures, and court systems. • Proficiency in legal software and case management tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Westlaw) • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines. • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure • Basic understanding of legal research tools Company Benefits Firm offers a sound future, competitive salary, and excellent benefits package. 40-hour work week with a one-hour lunch break Professional environment and the opportunity to work with attorneys at the top of their field Healthcare benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision and FSA options 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching option Generous paid time off Paid parking Schedule 8-hour shift (Monday thru Friday) This is an in-office position (not remote or hybrid position) Qualified applicants are asked to submit a cover letter explaining why you feel you would be a good fit for this position, along with a resume.
