The Plant Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of operations at our Houston facility, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and customer service while collaborating with senior leadership to ensure excellence in all areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and coordinating production schedules, managing staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This position requires a proactive leader with a strong background in manufacturing operations, repair process, and team management in an industrial setting.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperations Management:Oversee the day-to-day operations of the valve and pump shop, ensuring production targets and timelines are met.Optimize plant processes to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and minimize waste.Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with industry standards.Coordinate and oversee field service work to ensure quality standards and customer expectations are met. Staff Leadership & Development:Lead, motivate, and develop a team of supervisors, technicians, and support staff in a high-performance, safety-driven culture.Develop and oversee training programs for staff to ensure technical proficiency in valve and pump repair and maintenance processes.Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback to enhance team performance.Quality Control & Compliance:Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and industry standards for all work.Monitor and enforce compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality or safety issues.Inventory and Resource Management:Manage inventory of parts, materials, and supplies, ensuring timely availability for repairs and minimizing excess stock.Coordinate with procurement to ensure cost-effective purchasing and timely delivery of parts.Oversee maintenance of plant equipment and machinery to ensure uptime and prevent costly repairs.Budgeting & Cost Control:Manage the plant's budget, including labor and materials.Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety in collaboration with the Executive team.Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for improvement in cost efficiency.Customer Service & Communication:Work closely with sales, customer service, and engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and met.Maintain effective communication with sales on the progress of repair jobs, quality issues, or any delays.Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot and address complex repair challenges.Continuous Improvement:Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, safety, and profitability of the plant.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.Experience:Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in plant management or operations management within an industrial or manufacturing environment.Experience with valve, pump, or similar industrial repair services is highly desirable.Proven track record of managing teams and improving operational efficiency in a high-volume facility.Skills:Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and equipment maintenance.Familiarity with industrial safety regulations and best practices.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team coordination and customer interactions.Proficient in using ERP systems, and basic Microsoft Office applications.Certifications:OSHA safety certifications or equivalent industry-specific certifications preferred.Lean Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodology certification, is a plus.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and industrial machinery.Additional Information:This position may require occasional travel to customer sites or supplier locations.Flexibility in work hours may be required to meet production deadlines or address urgent customer needs.This role is essential for driving the growth and success of our operations.
