General Summary
The IT Coordinator works as a support specialist under the direction of the Administrative Services & Records Manager. The IT Coordinator coordinate and assist with the management of databases, performing basic troubleshooting, and training end-users for the Park Operations' software
Requirements and Job Specifications
Education Required:
Graduation from an accredited 4 year college or university.
Area of Study (Major) Required:
Computer science, Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS), Management Information Systems (MIS) or related technical field.
Certification(s) Preferred:
Microsoft Certified Trainer.
License(s) Required:
Valid LA Driver's License.
Years Relevant Work Experience Required:
Over 1 year up to three years of experience in IT, Computer Science or Systems Analysis. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Years Relevant Work Experience Preferred:
5 or more years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint & ExcelKnowledge of database managementSkill in introductory training & instruction of end usersHigh in customer service and the ability to deal with the public with tact and courtesy.Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues with all electronic items working with POSAbility to provide service desk support /remote support for all Park Operations POS software workstationsAbility to quickly learn BREC policies and procedures, operations and programsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and public.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Functions and Duties
Essential Functions and Duties:
Perform POS work in accordance with the knowledge of BREC operations to include, but not limited to: POS transactions, corrections, processing refunds & payment reversals, management setup for tickets, patron account set up (creating & editing), facility rentals, activity registrations, and reporting for all POS modules.Verify that all POS software installed on workstations is the most current version, and that all clients are running the same versions.Answer all POS software related requests for training, fix and other issues.Assist Administrative Serves & Records Manager with maintaining all Park Operations software's.
Secondary Duties:
Answers all requests for repairs, upgrades and computer -related failures and takes them to completion.Determines value in legacy software and recommends new or upgraded enhancements to existing software and systems.Assist with comparing and analyzing data between software's.Monitors and controls the operation of end-user software programs. Determines the cause of malfunctions and takes corrective action. Coordinates the efforts of contractors, consultants and third parties assigned. Maintains history log of service calls, vendor responsiveness, etc. for all hardware/software maintenance.Liaison with BREC IT Department and software vendors.Assists with electronic & software issues including, but not limited to PC's, printers, and escalate to IT Department as needed.Other duties as assigned? Coverage is effective the first of the month, following two months of employment, a (2 month waiting period). Employee cost per month for HMO: $175.43 - employee only; $597.45 - employee & spouse or employee & dependent children; $962.52 - family. Employee cost per month for PPO: $375.23 - employee only; $975.50 - employee & spouse or employee & dependent 162.68.57 - employee & spouse or employee & dependent children; $290.49 - family. BREC also offers voluntary insurance plans: Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Insurance (Accident, Cancer/Critical Care, Long and Short-term Disability, Term and Whole Life).
LIFE INSURANCE : All full-time employees are insured under a Group Term-Life Insurance policy through Equitable Life Insurance Company a subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana. Coverage is subject to decrease at age 65 and 70. There is no cost to the employee except for salaries more than $50,000 which are subject to the imputed income clause under the IRS regulations. Coverage is effective immediately.
RETIREMENT SYSTEM : BREC contributions to the City-Parish Employees' Retirement System for each employee amount to 40.32% of salary. Employees contribute at the rate of 9.5%. Retirement contributions are tax deferred. Personal contributions are kept on account and refunded if employees leave BREC before their retirement. Additional benefit opportunities are available after 25 years through the DROP program. BREC also offers a Supplemental Retirement DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN through payroll deduction.
HOLIDAYS : BREC employees receive twelve (12) paid holidays per year.
SICK LEAVE : BREC employees accumulate sick leave at the rate of 100 hours per year the first five years they are employed; accrual of hours will increase based on the number of years of service, thereafter, up to 192 hours for 15 or more years. Employee is eligible to utilize leave after 30 days of continuous employment.
ANNUAL LEAVE : BREC employees earn annual leave at the rate of 100 hours per year the first five years they are employed; accrual of hours will increased based on the number of years of service, thereafter, up to 192 hours for 15 or more years.
