A large hospital in Arizona is looking for experienced Neuro ICU/Intensive Care Unit RN's for a travel assignment. The right candidate will have two years of Neuro ICU experience in a large level one Trauma facility.Must hold an active ACLS & BLS.Must have an active AZ license or compact.Job Requirements
Must have two years of Neuro ICU experience in a large level one Trauma facility.Active ACLS & BLS required.Active AZ license or compact required.LEVEL 1 TRAUMA EXP required.EVD EXPERIENCE required.No first time travelers.Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, traveler has 2 attempts.Schedule Information
Shifts are 12hr / 7-7. May be placed on Standby for a scheduled shift.2 weekends per 4 weeks staffing required.2 out of 3 major holidays work required.Unit Specific Information
The nurse to patient ratio is 1:2.Floating is required between all ICU floors, and all Tele Units.On tele units, a patient load of 4:1.Floor specific orientation is 2 shifts on the floor.Common diagnoses/Types of patients include any patient that would qualify for critical care with a neuro diagnosis, cranis, brain tumor removal and ablations, brain biopsies, complicated spine surgeries and scoliosis repair.Must have strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience.Additional Details
DAY 1 PASS/FAIL SIMs Lab: All RNs will complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes.SIMs lab is pass/fail & nurses have been termed during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field.In addition to SIMs Lab, also goes through lifts, restraints, & wound care.
