2 years of experience in ER nursingActive BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certificationsMust possess an active California nursing licenseMust have skills: Previous ER experience (2 year preferred)Must read & interpret stripsMust be able to complete modules before start which take 3-4 hours and are not billableMust complete the Dysrhythmia Exam (BASIC) through UNA within 24-48 hours of acceptanceCommon diagnoses: CP r/o MI, SOB, Sepsis, stabilized CP and psych holdsSchedule Information
Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's)Unit managers will make final decisions on scheduling12hr Nights shifts, Every Other Weekend, First to FloatUnit Specific Information
Non-trauma, Stroke Receiving # Beds/Trauma Bays: 29 bedsFast Track: Yes - 8 bedsNurse to Patient Ratios: ICU Pt - 1:1 or 1:2; All other ED Pt's - 1:4ER/ED department treats 160-220 visits a dayX-Ray or CT in the ER? YesCommon acute conditions encountered in the unitPossibility to float to other Sacramento facilitiesWearing Navy scrubs is requiredAdditional Details
ER holds are intermixed with ER patients.Travelers are not assigned to triage area.Security in-house 24/7, posted in the psych area and at the Main ED EntranceCommon drips: Insulin, Nitro, Norepi, Heparin, DiltiazemCharge Nurse generally does not take patients but provides break relief when needed
