**Must-Have:** Previous ER experience, ability to read and interpret EKG strips
**Job Description:**
- This ER unit requires an RN with a minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience.- The department handles an average of 160-220 patient visits daily.- Nurse-to-patient ratios vary: ICU patients are 1:1 or 1:2, all other ER patients are up to 1:4.- Common diagnoses include chest pain, shortness of breath, sepsis, and psychiatric holds.- Required to manage drips such as Insulin, Nitro, Norepi, Heparin, Diltiazem.- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam (basic) within 24-48 hours prior to acceptance, with two allowed attempts.- Will work with ED physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.- Charge nurses generally do not take patients but provide break relief as needed.- The facility has 29 beds and 8 fast-track beds, with a triage area where travelers are not assigned.- Security personnel is present in-house and posted in the main ED entrance.- Respiratory Therapists (RT) are available 24/7 for ABGs and breathing treatments.- Navy scrubs are the required attire.- The charting system in use is Cerner.- May be required to float to other facilities if necessary.
**Note:** Holiday time off will be considered but is not guaranteed. Travelers will work two of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
