Pediatric Emergency Medicine PhysicianAssistant/Associate/Professor (Clinical)Department of Emergency MedicineThe Department of Emergency Medicine at the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is recruiting a full-time faculty as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician.The position provides adolescent patient care in the Pediatric Emergency Room and will work closely with the Chair of Emergency Medicine and Vice Chair, Operations. The position is integral in support of University Health Pediatric population. Optimal candidates will have an established track record of peer-reviewed research, excellence in education, and outstanding clinical service. We offer a wide variety of opportunities for program development and scholarly productivity in the areas of trauma, global medicine, health services, quality & safety, and medical education. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic group of academic Emergency Physicians. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and the requirements of the Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine. Job Responsibilities: •Responsibilities include the provision of care to critically ill and injured children in an emergency department setting as well as teaching fellows, residents, medical students, staff and overseeing the section and its administrative initiatives.•Participate in departmental and hospital committees•Provide support to the Emergency Medicine residency program and medical student rotations•Attend monthly Emergency Department physician meetings, and present pediatric operations reports as needed•Participation in Departmental and Hospital Process Improvements and Quality Improvement efforts•Continued involvement in scholarly activity as evidenced by scholarly publications, participation in specialty society organizations and/or peer-reviewed research funding•Maintain professional affiliations and involvement at national, state and local organizations.Required Qualifications:•MD or DO degree from an accredited institution•Board certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine•Licensed for practice of medicine in the state of TexasUT Health San Antonio offers a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits and insurance package, and generous retirement plan.
