a Sr. Principle Software Engineer
to add their skills to our team supporting rapid prototyping efforts within our Advanced Digital Analysis & Prototyping Testbed (ADAPT). This is an exciting and dynamic job opportunity where you’ll not only work on mission-critical projects but lay the groundwork for a diverse set of additional research and development opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
Work as part of a software development team to design and implement rapid prototypes for a broad range of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Command and Control (C2) challenges.
Use and develop cutting-edge modeling and simulation tools and algorithms to help address some of the most challenging issues regarding automation across the intelligence cycle for the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD).
Develop algorithms, perform analyses, and automate data processing to model operational scenarios for system evaluation and mission effectiveness in real-time and faster-than-real-time systems.
Take ownership of code bases from requirements, design, implementation, maintenance, and test.
Perform capability analyses of COTS, GOTS and other potential capabilities to identify best solutions.
Integrate capabilities from both internal and external sources, to include modeling and simulation tools.
Participation in the Agile development process and employing DevSecOps best practices.
Support customer demonstrations and other shaping opportunities to position for new business as well as integration events and field experiments.
Lead tasking of other developers including decomposing high-level tasks or milestones into smaller more manageable issues/tasks.
Self-starter who is willing to both take the lead and provide support in a team role in a complex, fast-paced, cross-disciplinary work environment.
Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task, readily adaptable to change, and respond to quick turn-around requests.
Willing to travel (Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or science field.
Minimum 8 years of experience (6 years with a MS degree).
Capable of leading software and system engineers; including managing scope, requirements, and schedule.
Experienced developer with strong coding, debugging, design and problem-solving skills.
Experience performing software coding, testing, validation, and verification activities.
Proficient in multiple high-level programming languages, e.g. Java, Python, C.
Experience using collaborative source code management (Git, Subversion), Agile Development, and DevSecOps.
Experience with Windows and Linux Development Environments.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
Active Top Secret Clearance.
Motivated collaborator with internal and external teams.
Practical understanding of space and/or ground systems, hardware, software, operations, and their interdependence.
Experience in real-time or time-critical processing pipelines and common networks and protocols.
Experience with front-end development including geospatial and situational awareness UI/UX.
Familiarity with AI supported decision making, Machine Learning, Autonomy, or real-time mission management.
Familiarity with one or more: RADAR, EW.
Cloud Native Technologies experience, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Harbor, Helm.
Familiarity with Automated DevSecOps pipeline tools, e.g. GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket.
Familiarity with UML/SysML and associated modeling software to support system development and SoS development, e.g. Magic Draw, Cameo, Rhapsody.
Familiarity with one or more of the following: AFSIM, STK, DIADS, NGTS or other relevant operational simulation and analysis tools.
Pay Information:
Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270. Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
