The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly.

The Work You Will Do:

This position is located within the Bureau of Compliance of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This position is part of the criminal referral unit and is responsible for reviewing cases related to alleged criminal activity related to the operations of a condominium.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Conducts reviews of incoming case files related to alleged criminal activity. Identifies documentary evidence pertinent to the suspected criminal activity. Prepares investigative reports and referrals.

Works closely with the Attorney Supervisor to determine cases that may be referred to the States Attorney and other local law enforcement agencies for criminal prosecution.

Provides written and telephonic responses to complaints and inquiries from the public concerning issues regulated by the Division’s program areas.

Generates appropriate documentation and maintains appropriate files in response to complaints and inquiries from the public.

Prepares cases for administrative action, trial, and related hearings or proceedings. Testifies in proceedings as needed.

Develops and maintains a network of contacts among members and representatives of regulated industries.

Performs other related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to work independently.

Skilled in writing and reading comprehension.

Skilled in customer service etiquette.

Ability to manage time working on various assignments.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports.

Proficient in the use of technology including software, hardware, and data systems.

Knowledge and the ability to apply Florida Statutes, rules and procedures for licensing of professionals.

High School Diploma or the equivalent;

and

Two (2) years of administrative office experience or customer service experience.
