Your Opportunity (Job Summary)

The Associate, as part of the Business Development and PMO group, plays a key role in supporting the organization’s strategic growth through performing Business Development diligence and Pre-LOI support, as well as Quality of Earnings analysis for potential acquisition targets, impactful financial modelling, and high-caliber presentations tailored for diverse stakeholder engagement. The Associate is instrumental in the acquisition of Physician Practices.

We Will Count on You To (Role & Responsibilities)

Provide Pre-LOI analytics and diligence to support Bus. Dev. and determine an appropriate valuation for the acquisition target for an initial bid.

Drive due diligence and financial modelling (Quality of Earnings Analysis) for new business opportunities and acquisitions; collaborates with Senior Leadership to oversee due diligence process, including working with internal and external resources and preparation of valuation and financial analysis of target acquisitions.

Provides input to the company's business development growth strategy in collaboration with team members.

Evaluates geographical markets and the relative position and competitive dynamics of practices, and payers within those markets.

Develops relationships with potential transaction targets and advisors.

Executes transactions, including development of structured processes and detailed timelines that can be reported to various stakeholders working with the PMO.

Expertly design and prepare comprehensive presentations and briefing materials for a variety of audiences, including senior executives, team members, and external partners.

Utilize visual and analytical tools to clearly articulate strategy and project updates, tailoring messaging to suit different audiences.

Participate in stakeholder meetings and discussions, effectively communicating key insights, project updates, and strategic recommendations.

Support sourcing of actionable new acquisition opportunities with Business Development.

What Makes You Stand Out (Skills & Experience)

Ideally 1-3 years of professional experience in healthcare Transaction Services with one of the leading Accounting/TAS firms (comparable industries include investment banking, business/corporate development, private equity).

Financial statement literacy, gathering data and preparation of QofE reports.

Experience with respect to mergers and acquisitions transactions, financial/quantitative analysis and complex financial modeling and due diligence.

Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, QuickBooks (other standard programs) and experience with multidimensional query-driven reporting systems and financial modelling.

Advanced skills in building effective presentations in PowerPoint essential.

Excellent people skills, with a proven record of effective collaboration and communication across different teams and functions.

Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills; keen attention to detail.

Strong organization, project management and prioritization skills.

Sound business judgment with an ability to synthesize, analyze and extract implications.

Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and do what it takes in a Business Development/ M&A environment.

What You Need to Have (Qualifications)

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA preferred.

Experience:

Relevant M&A work/internship experience (i.e., QofE production, strategy/corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, etc.) in healthcare with a Transaction Advisory Firm, investment bank or private equity firm. Experience and passion for the healthcare sector is preferred, particularly with physician services organizations.

Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, QuickBooks and experience with multidimensional query-driven reporting systems and financial modelling.

Analytical Skills:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

Communication:

Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with target advisors, colleagues, physicians, and senior management.

Work Environment:

Office environment with travel to acquisition target sites, as necessary.

Physical Demands:

Sedentary required to: stand; sit; talk; hear; use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; and reach, stoop and/or kneel to install computer equipment.
