Position Summary:
Join the Aetna Medicare Part D Actuarial Team as the enterprise embarks on a journey to reimagine its omnichannel health experience while harnessing cutting-edge technology to streamline and simplify the stakeholder experience. Our team will leverage digital assets like cloud computing to streamline and modernize Aetna’s Part D rating systems.
As Senior Manager of Application Development, you will help lead the creation of tools and models used by Aetna’s Medicare Part D pricing processes from on-prem Unix-based SAS to Google Cloud (GCP), including a .NET user interface. You will work with actuaries to understand the business needs, and design and build a custom cloud data management solution that optimizes model performance by splitting computing workloads between BigQuery and if needed Python DataFrame manipulations. After migration, you will be responsible for implementing enhancements to the tools and models according to specifications gathered from customers.
This is an individual Contributor position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and implement a custom GCP data management solution to optimize model performance, incorporating GCP community standards of practice, and including appropriate IAM controls
Convert a large SAS code base to BigQuery and Python running in a GCP environment
Perform code and architectural reviews
Conduct requirements analysis
Write clean, scalable queries and Python code for consumption by cloud architecture
Revise, update, refactor, and debug queries and code
Collaborate and clearly communicate with various teams, leaders, and stakeholders across the organization to design and deliver solutions that meet actuarial and underwriting needs
Organize and document code so that business logic is easy to locate, read, and update
Skills you bring:
Ability to manage to a timeline in a fast-paced business environment
Strong skills in design and solution engineering across both on-prem and cloud infrastructure
Understanding of data architecture necessary to enable solutions for analytics, data management, business intelligence, business operations and actuarial science
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with Google BigQuery & Python
Experience with version control software (Github preferred)
Familiarity with .NET framework and basic front-end UI design
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of healthcare domain experience preferred
8+ years of experience with Python Pandas library for Data Science (DataFrames)
4+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Access & VBA
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering field or equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $260,590.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
