ResponsibilitiesJoin our Technology and Engineering Software Delivery Center and support exciting projects across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, and mobile. You'll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment that allows you to grow your skills and your career while building experience in a variety of different projects and domains.
You'll join and/or lead a team to architect and develop innovative cloud-based solutions to address specific business demands. You'll design and implement the whole lifecycle functions of the programs required to run and be run on the cloud. This is vast and varied but frequently involves developing the processes, optimization, and risk management tools that a project(s) requires to function properly. Mentoring junior staff is likely to be a portion of your responsibilities.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
BS and 8+ years of experience, MS and 6+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 3 years of experience working as a cloud engineer. Degree in computer science, computer engineering, BIT, MIS, or a related field is recommended.Ability to work with internal and external teams to define requirements, specify architectures, complete detailed designs, and oversee implementations.Proven technical leadership skills and mastery of cutting-edge cloud solutions and architectures.Extensive experience working in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and/or VMWare environments.Strong experience with IAC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes.Experience developing Bash/Python scripts and templates necessary for resource provisioning to occur automaticallyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-playerStrong written and oral communication skillsU.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.Desired Qualifications:Prior experience working in an Agile software development environmentExperience with Java, Groovy, REST API development, UNIX Shell ScriptingExperience with web development frameworks, database technologies, web services, and/or web application serversDiscovering and implementing industry-standard cloud service offers, as well as processes and standards that ensure the most efficient use of cloud service provider products.Prior experience providing mentoring to junior personnel.Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action and an ability to find innovative ways to solve problems.
Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
