Key Responsibilities
Content:
Writes, edits and coordinates key executive content (e.g., speeches, memos, video scripts, social media content, photography), including deep research and deadline-driven production of materials. Ability to visualize and oversee associated creative and design to align with the written content, working with design resources. Oversee content review process. Ensures consistent executive narrative through all messaging channels across departments. Collaborates with and leads others in multiple departments to provide consistent executive written and visual narrative aligned to overall strategy.
Media Relations:
May oversee high profile media relations activities such as officer speeches, presentations, scripts, talking points or visual collateral. May serve as a communications coach to key executives, which may include the Chief Executive Officer.
Consultation:
Serves as a companywide communication expert linking narratives and overseeing a consistent proactive approach. Proactively anticipates overall executive communication needs and provides strategic written and visual communication solutions. Advises executives on outreach opportunities to ensure consistent alignment with strategic objectives.
Vendor Management:
May engage vendors as needed. Tracks and reports quality metrics. Monitors work product quality of freelancers, agencies, and other outside resources. Ensures alignment to overall brand concept.
Other Duties:
Designs, monitors and tracks metrics and reports back to clients. Provides guidance and direction to other team members. May lead cross-functional projects. May serve as a mentor/editor to other team members. Oversees high level or sensitive projects for company executives.
Education/Experience/CertificationsEducation:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, writing or other related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Typically eight or more years of experience in corporate communications, including thought leadership, executive speechwriting, and media relations. Familiarity or practical working experience and knowledge in utilities or comparable highly-regulated enterprises or organizations.

Compensation Range:$104,325.00 - $173,875.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
