Key Responsibilities:Advocate on behalf of employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administratorsPrepare correspondence to clientsDraft pleadingsAttend court appearancesManage calendarConduct depositions and cross-examinations of doctorsNegotiate settlementsProactive case managementMentor and manage legal assistantEstablish relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendorsAttend marketing events with new and existing clientsReview and work on files, enter time into billing softwareInput case information into PracticeMasterMeet deadlines for client correspondenceAttend client meetingsConduct training seminars for clients on changing employment lawsUnderstand and maintain current knowledge of employment law and statutesAll other duties or tasks, as neededSkills and Experience:Must have a well-established and exclusive employment litigation, defense backgroundSchool district defense experience requiredTrial experience preferred, but not requiredExperience with public entity defense a plusMust have knowledge of class/PAGA inclusiveBachelor’s and Juris Doctor degreesMember, State Bar of California in good standingSuperior research, analytical, and negotiating abilityExcellent written and oral communicationCommitment to proactive case management
