DescriptionPosition: Design ProfessionalReports To: Project Manager/LeadClassification: Non-ExemptDate of Revision: 5/1/2021SummaryDesign Professional – Non-licensed design and planning professional having completed 0-3 years of higher ed and campus planning related experience. Undertakes a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard architectural techniques for small projects or selected segments of a larger project. This individual will have excellent inter-personal skills and be a strong problem solver who thinks strategically and creatively. Adept at data and information management and strong writing skills are preferred. The ideal individual will have a desire to focus on planning/predesign work with some flexibility to support other project design efforts as needed.RequirementsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAssists in preparation of information and drawings for analyses and reports.Assists in developing design sketches, renderings, models and graphics for presentation materials, including possible hand sketching.Provides design and research support to project team members, which may include computer modeling and renderings.Compiles data, performs elementary computations related to campus planning analysis.Adheres to firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability.Assists in preparation of final design documents including guidelines, reports, comprehensive planning documents and final presentation materials.Organizes and plans accordingly to execute tasks.Self-checks work for accuracy, omissions and legibility.Competencies:Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suites required (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).Proficiency with Revit, Sketchup, Rhino and/or GIS, Excel strongly preferred.Experience with rendering software such as Lumion, Enscape or other similar strongly preferred.Possess an ability to use software flexibly and creatively for efficient production.Effective verbal, graphic and written communication skills.Ability to meet schedule deadlines and work within the project budget.Excellent organization skills.Passion for providing exceptional client service.Collaborative and professional work ethic.Required Education and ExperienceBachelor of Science in Architecture, Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree from an accredited university. Additional degree or concentration in Urban Design preferred.0-3 years related work experience.Work AuthorizationSponsorship may be considered.
