Our team supports a combined fleet of ships sailing to Alaska each summer, operating lodges and hotels, luxury motor coaches and the largest domed rail cars in the world.We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Human Resources. This position will be responsible for leading a team that champions change, proactively removes roadblocks and builds diverse and inclusive talent strategies to deliver on our guest service priorities while enhancing the employee experience. You’ll lead a team of HR Assistants committed to supporting teams and leaders to build a passionate workforce. Most of your time will be spent supporting your locations and providing direction to your HR Assistants to complete day-to-day tasks, payroll timekeeping, and assisting team members with everyday questions, training, and maintaining company culture.ResponsibilitiesRecruit and staff seasonal team members:
Administer the seasonal applicant tracking system (ATS), review hiring needs, assist in conducting interviews, and maintain proper internal notes.Onboarding & Training:
Oversee onboarding processes, assist new hires, conduct orientation and compliance training.Support business leaders through HR processes:
Coach and consult location leaders, enforce policies, assist with transfers, promotions, and terminations.Payroll system and timekeeping:
Ensure accurate timesheets, provide guidance to seasonal admin users, and assist employees with pay inquiries.Oversee employee housing community:
Manage room assignments, ensure proper check-in/out processes, and conduct inspections.Guide operations in employee relations:
Conduct investigations, promote an inclusive environment, and ensure compliance with labor regulations.Administer the Rewards & Incentives program:
Oversee bonuses and incentives for seasonal team members.RequirementsAssociate degree in human resources or related field from an accredited university/college or equivalent experience.Bachelor’s degree and PHR, SPHR or equivalent preferred.Minimum 2+ years’ experience in HR in progressively responsible roles in hotel or related industry.Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to support business leaders and manage conflict.Must be based near the location properties in Alaska.Travel expectation is approximately 25-50% to properties during the season.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.What You Can ExpectCruise and Travel Privileges for You and Your Family401(k)Employee Stock Purchase PlanTraining & Professional DevelopmentTuition & Professional Certification ReimbursementRewards & IncentivesHolland America Line and Princess is an equal opportunity employer.
