This position will be responsible for leading a team that champions change, proactively removes roadblocks, and builds diverse and inclusive talent strategies to deliver on our guest service priorities while enhancing the employee experience. You’ll lead a team of HR Assistants committed to supporting teams and leaders to create a workplace where teams love to work. As the Leader of HR, your time will be spent providing direction to your HR Assistants, completing day-to-day tasks, payroll timekeeping, assisting team members with everyday questions, training, and being the gatekeeper of culture.ResponsibilitiesRecruitment and Staffing:
Administer the seasonal applicant tracking system (ATS), review and maintain up-to-date hiring needs, assist in conducting interviews, and maintain proper internal notes.Onboarding & Training:
Oversee the onboarding process of new hires, conduct orientation and compliance training presentations.Support Business Leaders:
Coach and consult location leaders, assist with performance management and enforce policies.Payroll Administration:
Ensure timesheets are accurate, assist with pay inquiries, and educate team members on payment options.Employee Housing Management:
Oversee employee housing team, process room assignments, and ensure compliance with labor law postings.Employee Relations:
Conduct investigations, promote an inclusive environment, and maintain HR procedures compliant with labor regulations.Rewards & Incentives:
Oversee end-of-season bonuses and manage employee space available requests.RequirementsAssociate degree in human resources or related field; Bachelor’s degree and PHR, SPHR preferred.Minimum 2+ years’ experience in HR in progressively more responsible roles.Knowledge of employment laws and experience in recruiting and talent management.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, business acumen, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.The qualified candidate must be based in SE Alaska: Skagway, Juneau, or Ketchikan. Travel expectation is approximately 25-50% during the season, dependent on business needs.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
