As the Director of Sales and Business Development: Advocacy Solutions at DonorBureau, you will lead the charge in developing and executing powerful sales and marketing strategies for clients in the Advocacy space. You will build strong relationships with clients, partners, policymakers, and stakeholders, collaborating with internal teams to integrate advocacy strategies into broader plans. Monitoring policy developments and industry trends will inform your innovative sales strategies, and you will lead the creation of advocacy materials and participate in events to promote objectives. Your contributions to business development and your reports on advocacy campaign progress and impact will make a meaningful difference.Essential Functions:
As the Director of Sales and Business Development: Advocacy Solutions for DonorBureau, you will:Lead business development efforts and expand DonorBureau's advocacy brand within the government affairs marketplace.Meet or exceed established sales targets and performance metrics.Establish strong relationships with clients, partners, policymakers, and other stakeholders to support sales and advocacy efforts.Develop and implement effective advocacy strategies that align with our organization's objectives and amplify our message to key audiences.Collaborate with internal teams, including account managers and specialists, to integrate advocacy strategies into broader marketing and communications plans.Monitor and analyze policy developments and industry trends to inform advocacy strategies and make necessary adjustments to tactics.Report on the progress of advocacy campaigns, assess their impact, and evaluate their effectiveness in achieving desired outcomes.Plan and participate in events, meetings, and other activities to promote advocacy objectives and garner community support.Prepare and review advocacy and fundraising packages for client approval and deployment.Assist in developing advocacy and fundraising package concepts with the account management team.Lead the creation of advocacy materials, including briefs, presentations, and digital content, to engage and educate stakeholders and the public.Competencies:
Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills required.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders required.Expert-level attention to detail with strong attention to accuracy required.Strong understanding of the political process and experience engaging with policymakers and stakeholders required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and willingness to learn new techniques required.Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional projects required.Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities and deadlines required.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Political Science, Communications, Public Affairs, or a related field.Robust experience in sales, with a strong emphasis on business development, fundraising, and government relations required.Minimum two years of experience in advocacy, public affairs, or policy, with a proven track record of successful campaigns required.1-3 years of experience with SMS/MMS campaigns preferred.Previous experience in digital fundraising is preferred.A network of contacts in government, nonprofit, and business sectors is highly desirable.Experience with creating donation pages on systems such as Revv or Anedot preferred.Previous experience in drafting advocacy and fundraising communications & deploying fundraising campaigns preferred.Experience with email marketing platforms such as MailChimp & Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred.Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.This job may require up to 25% travel.
