Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with experience in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This role involves conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, and working closely with our team to support each child’s unique communication goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ASD-specific communication challenges and the patience, creativity, and empathy needed to foster growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to determine communication needs and develop intervention goals.
Design, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans tailored to each child’s unique needs, with a focus on improving expressive and receptive language, social communication, and alternative communication methods.
Utilize evidence-based practices and stay up-to-date on the latest research and therapies for ASD.
Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists, special educators) to provide comprehensive support.
Educate and support families and caregivers, providing strategies and resources to reinforce therapy goals at home.
Document progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, ensuring thorough communication with families and the clinical team.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
ASHA certification and current state licensure (or eligibility).
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with children with ASD (clinical, educational, or therapeutic settings preferred).
Knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) tools and strategies is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a commitment to child-centered care.
