The Carolinas Clean Energy Business Association (CCEBA) seeks a full-time Attorney to join its team as Deputy General Counsel - South Carolina. CCEBA is a leading advocate for the renewable energy industry in South and North Carolina. We are dedicated to promoting policies and regulations that support greater market access for clean energy technologies and businesses. The Deputy General Counsel will play a crucial role in advancing CCEBA's mission in South Carolina by providing legal counsel and advocacy on a range of regulatory issues related to renewable energy.This position is open to applicants who have at least three years of experience with energy regulatory law, including practice before state utilities commissions. Preferred candidates will have experience in South Carolina and with transmission, interconnection, integrated resource planning, energy policy making, and PURPA, as well as strong litigation and negotiating skills and a solid understanding of FERC and the legal issues affecting the solar industry at the state, regional, and national levels.Location:Hybrid in South Carolina. Working mostly from a virtual office and practicing before the South Carolina Public Service Commission in Columbia. Occasional travel to organizational meetings (3 to 4 times per year, some held in SC).Primary Responsibilities:Regulatory Advocacy:

In concert with the General Counsel and volunteer member representatives, representing the Carolinas Clean Energy Business Association and its membership at state, regional, and occasional federal regulatory proceedings to facilitate progress toward transparent, competitive, clean energy markets.Policy Analysis:

Tracking and analyzing key regulatory developments affecting the solar industry in South Carolina; identifying potential impacts to our membership and developing strategies to address CCEBA’s priorities and coordinating that approach across the Carolinas.Legal Research:

Conducting legal research, drafting comments, testimony, and other legal documents in support of CCEBA's positions on regulatory matters.Strategy Execution:

Working independently and as part of a team to develop and implement legal and regulatory strategies that advance clean energy and independent power.External Counsel Oversight

: Managing outside counsel representation in regulatory proceedings to ensure effective representation.Stakeholder Engagement:

Interfacing and forming strong relationships with membership organizations, regulators, utilities, and other key stakeholders.Required Qualifications:J.D. degree plus three years of relevant experienceLicensed in South Carolina.Strong litigation, analytical, and negotiating skills.Effective written and oral communicator, with the ability to translate complicated legal subject matter for broad audiences.Knowledge of legal and regulatory issues affecting the renewable energy industry.Excellent work ethic and ability to work well independently.Strong interpersonal skills, able to develop and maintain strong working relationships and function well as part of a team.Preferred Qualifications & Work Experience:J.D. degree plus five years of relevant experience.Specific experience working on Transmission, Integrated Resource Plans, PURPA, Avoided Cost, Interconnection, Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity, Transmission.Compensation & Benefits:Compensation and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience, including a target salary range of $115,000 – $125,000, health care, retirement match, flexible time, and professional education.To Apply:Please submit your
