We need a focused, experienced workers compensation defense lawyer who is skilled in handling workers compensation claims for our clients when needed. Usually, these clients do not have workers compensation insurance or the claim has been denied for some reason, so we are looking for someone who has experience and who can efficiently defend these claims.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced workers compensation defense attorney to join our firm as a remote contract attorney on an as-needed basis. This role involves working on complex workers compensation cases defending employers, drafting and filing responsive pleadings, and defending depositions. You will collaborate with our principal attorney to develop strategies that ensure favorable outcomes for our clients.This position is remote and requires you to be licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of California.How to ApplyThis is an excellent opportunity for a workers compensation attorney looking for flexible, remote work on a contract basis while contributing to meaningful client outcomes. Thank you for considering this opportunity with our law firm.ResponsibilitiesManage workers compensation matters on an as-needed basis.Experience defending uninsured defendants is crucial.Conduct legal research and prepare and file necessary pleadings, motions, and responses in workers' compensation cases.Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences as needed, either virtually or in person.Work collaboratively with the firm's principal and other attorneys on workers compensation cases that cross over with either employer defense or personal injury cases.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to workers' compensation defense.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the California State Bar with a clean disciplinary record.Minimum of three years of experience practicing workers compensation law.In-depth knowledge of workers' compensation claims process, legal procedures, and relevant case law in California.Proven ability to work independently, manage case files, and develop case strategies effectively.Proficiency in remote work tools and digital case management systems.Outstanding research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Strong written and oral communication abilities.Compensation$100 per hour
