The
Production Manager
position is an excellent opportunity for someone with significant operational experience in chemical and/or refinery processes to lead a cross-functional team to deliver the goals and objectives for the site. By successfully managing budgets, staff, and operating assets against organizational targets for the units/areas assigned, this role will provide an excellent opportunity to exhibit leadership capabilities.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDirectly responsible to assure the assigned units are conducting business in a safe and environmentally compliant manner including extending such protection to the neighboring communities.As a part of the site Leadership Team establishes plant goals, objectives, and operational budgets to ensure continuous improvement within assigned units while being in a key leadership position to influence the goals and objectives for the site.Responsible and accountable for achieving operating plan targets and for operating the assets in a manner that is safe and environmentally compliant.Leads by example and establishes a working environment that involves trust to drive a diverse, high-performing team that creates a vision that fosters a sense of common ownership.Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping effective operations and cost factors. Executes daily operating plan within safe limits and adjusts as required to stay within limits.Leads cross-functional teams, in employee development, succession planning/knowledge transfer, and performance management for the Daily Execution Team.Directs the activities of each unit to produce effective results within their area of responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.Responsible for meeting the business plan for the budget, utilization, yields, energy and EH&S targets.Provides operational coordination for asset optimization through coordination with Maintenance, Reliability, and Strategic teams.Drives reliability improvements and an efficient Maintenance Work Process.Participates in budgeting activities, reviews costs and expenses, and strives for continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and safety of unit operations across the site. Directly responsible for optimizing fixed and variable manufacturing unit costs and provides technical support for cost-effective operationsCommunicates production opportunities, constraints, and overall performance in a prioritized manner to the organization.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering from accredited university or institutionStrong technical capacity in the petrochemical space8+ years of experience in the fundamentals of chemical / refinery processes5+ years of leadership and management for direct reportsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Olefins, Refining, or C4 processingQualifications
