Network Systems Engineer
in Huntsville, AL.Job Description:
The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for advising the MRCPO in the design, development, fielding, and modernization of the Battery Operation Center (BOC) as part of the Army Mid-Range Capability.The Network Systems Engineer will assist in managing technical requirements, and risk for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Army’s Long Range Precision Fires priority to field an experimental prototype battery with residual combat capability in support of Multi-Domain Operations.The Network Systems Engineer assists with the systems architecture and federated integration of the Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS), Aegis Weapon System (AWS), the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), and the Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS) in the BOC.Support the development, prototyping, modernization, testing, and evaluation of BOC Network Systems software and hardware and support the integration and test events of the Mid-Range Capabilities.Provide systems engineering & integration support for weapons system network.Develop network diagrams to include modernization efforts and network additions for added hardware.Review and define system requirements.Review and evaluate system technical specifications, designs, analyses, test plans/procedures, and technical data packages.Interface with other government organizations and development contractors to facilitate preliminary concept exploration and candidate system design.Develop and present briefings, analysis, and reports to industry, internal/external government organizations, and senior/executive leadership within DoD and the Federal Government.Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 10 years of experience supporting engineering for weapon systems.Must have a minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering for major defense acquisition program office or OEM.Must have demonstrated knowledge and application of systems engineering and requirements analysis.Must have successful missile system fire direction and power systems development experience.Must have demonstrated experience with System Requirements Design Reviews.Must have the ability to multitask in a high paced environment.Must have experience in network/IP configurations management.Must have excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.Must be proficient in MS Office.Desired Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Engineering, preferred.Active TS/SCI, preferred.Successful technical missile system fire direction and power systems development experience with Tactical Tomahawk Weapon Control System (TTWCS), Aegis Weapon System (AWS), the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), and the Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), preferred.Experience with fielded DoD internet terminal systems (Starlink, SIPR/NIPR Access Point (SNAP), T2Network Systems), preferred.Knowledge of system interface requirements and requirements management as well as techniques to drive system behaviors, preferred.Experience preparing briefings and documentation, preferred.Familiar with conducting reviews of entrance and exit criteria, preferred.Security Requirements:
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain one.Must have the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance within 12 months, if needed.Travel Requirements:
Less than 10%.If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.Equal Employment Opportunity:
