This full-time position ishybridbased at Western Digitals offices in San Jose or Irvine, California

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional looking to take their career to the next level. This individual must possess the ability and skills to successfully interact with both a geographically and culturally diverse set of financial team members. This position will be involved in the month end close process, including preparation and review of various financial reports, reconciliations and assist in ad hoc accounting projects as needed. This role will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with established internal controls. In this role, you will also assist with corporate initiatives relating to process improvements and support transformational projects to achieve best in class results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries and account analysis for certain US general ledger accounts, such as prepaid expenses, cloud computing arrangements, restructuring, goodwill, and intangible assetsPrepare account reconciliations on a monthly basis and ensure outstanding reconciling items are cleared on a timely basisPrepare the monthly Balance Sheet fluctuation analysisPrepare monthly reporting schedules to management, providing commentary and noting fluctuation changes from prior periodsSupport cross-functional teams with journal entry posting and account analysisOversee global account reconciliation process and conduct periodic quality reviews of account reconciliationsConduct periodic global accounting team trainings around best practices for reconciliations and other key accounting topicsDesign, implement, and maintain effective accounting processes, policies, and internal controlsIdentify automation opportunities while proactively engaging and collaborating with accounting transformation team members to build various scalable and transformational processes as well as to support new business initiativesPerform other related duties or ad hoc projectsAssist in audit activities with internal and external auditors

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting or FinanceActive CPA license is preferred3+ years of demonstrated success in accounting roles of increasing responsibility, preferably a mix of both public accounting and corporate accounting roles within a publicly traded companyStrong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC Regulations and understanding of SOX 404(b) complianceExperience working with global financial systems, preferably Oracle and SAPDemonstrated experience with process and system automationMust have the ability to execute multiple tasks, while remaining detail oriented with high commitment to quality, and able to adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organizationPassion in implementing technology and executing process improvements
