Job Description - Sr. Systems Administrator (2400005J)
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator with extensive experience in Windows Server environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Windows Server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role will also involve mentoring junior staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the organization's IT goals.
Responsibilities
System Administration: Manage, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
Infrastructure Design: Design and implement server solutions to support business operations, including virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and resource utilization, implementing optimizations as needed.
Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures, including patches, updates, and compliance with organizational policies.
Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
Troubleshooting: Provide advanced troubleshooting for hardware, software, and networking issues, resolving incidents in a timely manner.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior systems administrators and other IT staff.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to support projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
7+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, with a strong focus on Windows Server.
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with backup and restore technologies such as CommVault and Veeam.
Preferred Certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
CompTIA Network+ or similar networking certifications
