Overview
This job contributes to REI’s success by developing, examining, and reporting business performance metrics. This gives the tools and information required to meet the Co-Op’s financial targets. The focus will be on performance measurement, financial reporting, and delivering actionable insights to drive business decisions.
Performance Measurement: Develop and manage tools to measure business performance, facilitating effective planning and decision-making.
Financial Reporting: Review financial reports and special analyses to share insights that help the Merchandising team’s priorities.
Event Planning and Reporting: Oversee the reporting process for seasonal events, ensuring accurate tracking of relevant metrics.
System Expertise: Act as a go-to resource for data-backed tools and systems used in planning. Provide guidance to team members.
Insightful Reporting: Create comprehensive reports that deliver actionable insights to guide strategic business decisions.
Partnership: Work with cross-divisional teams to prepare executive-level reports and presentations, ensuring alignment across the organization.
Performance Opportunities: Monitor business processes to identify and recommend areas for improvement.
KPI Management: Examine impacts to key performance indicators across various merchandise categories, store types, and channels.
Ad-Hoc Research: Manage and respond to requests for reporting and exploration as needed.
Reporting Calendar: Maintain a detailed reporting calendar, proactively setting deadlines and expectations for data requirements.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in retail analytics for a multi-channel retailer.
2+ years’ experience with system metrics data, and making actionable recommendations based on data.
5+ years of experience in merchandise planning with an exceptional planning background.
Experience using self-serve analytics tools like Tableau, Sigma and PowerBI to explore trends, evaluate performance and present findings.
Proven ability to perform in-depth investigation, compile and interpret results, and present strategies to senior management.
Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying and receiving information across various situations.
Dedicated collaborative skills, participating with team members and influencing others to achieve organizational goals.
Innovative thinking and sound judgment in solving problems and pursuing business opportunities.
Dynamic organizational skills, with the ability to set effective work goals, establish priorities, and execute.
Executes by using resources, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals.
