We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales for Hampton Inn & Suites Tucson Mall by Hilton and TownePlace Suites Tucson by Marriott both located in Tucson, Arizona. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue, occupancy and ADR for both hotels as well as collaborating with the revenue management team.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the development of the annual budget and sales plan, monitor sales performance to plan during the year, and adjust sales activities as needed to achieve plan targets for total hotel revenue, sales department expenses, ADR, RevPAR, and guest satisfaction.
Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue and occupancy rates for our hotels.
Participate in weekly revenue management calls.
Ensure hotel participation in all brand sales, marketing and revenue management initiatives.
Timely submission of required reports to General Manager.
Ensure sales administrative duties such as reporting, maintaining sales files, trace files and account history are complete.
Conduct sales activities to maintain relationship with key accounts to maintain source of revenue and to generate incremental revenue from existing accounts.
Promote hotel through personal involvement in community organizations and events.
Perform inside sales activities such as responding to telephone and in-person inquiries about hotel services, booking sales business, giving property tours, and coordinating arrangements for group events with the front desk, reservations, meeting rooms, and food and beverage.
Provide front desk staff with sales profile as needed.
Provide selling technique skills training to front desk.
Supervise and train sales assistant, if applicable.
Education & Experience:
Associate degree, preferably in business administration, marketing or hotel management preferred.
Minimum Experience:
3 years hotel sales experience or the equivalent amount of industry experience.
Minimum Skill Requirements:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have good analytical skills and decision-making ability.
Must be able to work independently and multi-task, prioritizing as appropriate.
Computer skills include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s) and Delphi.
Physical Requirements:
May be required to do moderate to light lifting or carrying.
Capable of working in fast paced environment and stressful situations.
Must respond to multiple task interruptions and still provide service to internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to travel.
May require working a varied schedule, including nights and weekends.
