Key Responsibilities:
As the Sales Manager, your primary role will be to generate new business, nurture existing client relationships, and increase occupancy, sales, and profits, especially during the off-season. Your ability to craft and execute a comprehensive marketing plan will be key to achieving revenue goals. You will also serve as a vital link between the hotel and the local community, staying actively involved in business networks and events to foster ongoing opportunities.
What You Will Do:
Represent the hotel positively and professionally at all times.
Respond promptly to all inquiries, leads, and correspondence within 24 hours.
Focus on direct phone sales, email processing, internet prospecting, and cold calling. Aim to connect with every business within a five-mile radius of the hotel.
Develop relationships and maintain familiarity with different market segments, including associations, corporations, educational institutions, industrial facilities, tour companies, unions, sports teams, retail establishments, and government agencies.
Gain an intimate understanding of all hotel departments and functions to effectively promote the hotel’s offerings.
Stay informed about competitor activities and industry trends, making recommendations for operational adjustments as needed.
Ensure the hotel is prominently featured in local media and that the property website is regularly updated with new photos and service information.
Consistently meet and exceed established sales goals, providing weekly progress reports to Corporate and General Manager.
Book meetings and conferences, focusing on up-selling guest rooms and additional amenities.
Work closely with the Front Office Supervisor to maximize occupancy through group bookings and ensure smooth operations.
Actively seek opportunities from local businesses and charitable organizations to drive revenue.
Maintain professional attire and punctuality, representing the hotel positively at all times.
Re-engage old accounts to drive renewed business.
Maintain memberships and contacts with relevant hotel industry associations, attending trade shows as needed.
Keep clear and consistent communication with all hotel staff.
Follow up with clients before, during, and after events to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Maintain accurate and organized files and accounts, adhering to all established policies and procedures.
Respond promptly to requests from Corporate, General Manager, and other upper management.
