Major Purpose:
The Director of Sales and Service oversees branch operations, business development and is responsible for the overall administration of the credit union’s retail services. This role will be directly responsible for the management of all products and services delivery. In addition, the Director of Sales and Service will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee branch operation activities to ensure effective and efficient operations, quality of member service, and compliance with existing regulations and policies for each location.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Manage retail operations of the credit union, including the personnel and all branch service functions.
Participate in the credit union’s long‐ and short‐term strategic planning as it relates to Branch Operations.
Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while providing expertise and guidance.
Implement and communicate the strategic direction of the credit union to direct reports to ensure clear understanding of rules, regulations, requirements, and expectations.
Establish, communicate, implement, and monitor retail operations-related policies, practices, and standards to comply with credit union policies and governmental rules and regulations.
Establish and oversee the department’s annual allocated budget.
Maintain thorough knowledge of credit union policies and procedures, product offerings and loan and savings rates and be capable of discussing and recommending various loan and deposit account products with members.
Monitor branch performance and provide periodic reports to the President/CEO and Director of Lending. Attain branch goals in savings, lending accounts relationships, transactions, and cross selling goals.
Oversee the development and monitoring of employee performance standards.
Provide coaching to support and develop branch managers and supervise staff. Identify training needs and ensure proper training is developed and provided for supervised areas.
Assist branch managers in resolving complex member complaints.
Ensure the security and safety of each branch.
Keep abreast of changes in the industry and changing trends in lending and react to changes in a way that maintains competitiveness.
Oversee Business Development department initiatives to provide for the short- and long-term needs of the credit union.
Develop and monitor a retail sales program to cross‐sell products.
Establish and maintain contact with Select Employee Groups (SEG’s).
Direct the logistics of organizing and conducting SEG employee enrollment meetings, packages and promotes Vicinity Credit Union products and services.
Liaise for community involvement and development through chambers of commerce, school districts and other organizations.
Work with the President to identify and develop new products and services.
Assist Branch Management to maximize sales and service results.
Assist in the ongoing maintenance and management of the sales culture established by the credit union to enhance product penetration, membership, productivity and membership awareness.
Support an environment that promotes providing a level of care that makes members feel welcomed, significant, and engaged.
Manage demanding situations with members, providing them with a resolution, information or additional options.
Ensure audit controls are followed to protect the credit union from unnecessary risk & exposure.
Support compliance with regulatory guidelines such as BSA, Regulation CC and Regulation E.
Collaborate in the hiring and training of Retail Staff.
Assess sales performance of Retail Banking staff members by product and product line.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other industry-related field required; MBA preferred.At least 10 years of credit union related experience including three years in upper management required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices for credit unions.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:The majority of the work performed will be in an office environment.
COMPENSATION INFORMATION:Pay Range: $75,000 - $80,000 USD per hour plus incentives. A competitive compensation and benefits package shall be offered to the selected candidate and includes the following: health, dental, retirement plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
