is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Senior Corporate Accountant
to support our home office finance team with a focus on multi-state tax reporting and auditing. In this role, you will handle general accounting responsibilities, lead monthly closings, produce financial reports, and ensure compliance with various tax and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles and a collaborative approach, playing an integral role in the success of our accounting and finance department.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to senior management. Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements across multiple entities and locations.Manage and ensure compliance with multi-state tax reporting requirements, specifically for sales and use taxes across various jurisdictions. Provide support on matters related to property tax, including preparation and review of necessary documentation.Conduct regular audits of payroll tax reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.Reconcile complex general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP standards. Collaborate with property-level teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition, expense management, and balance sheet reconciliation.Assist with internal and external audits, providing accurate and timely information as needed.Maintain and update the debt schedule, and prepare financial reports and analyses as requested by financial institutions to support debt compliance and reporting.Perform and oversee month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.Collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop budgets and financial forecasts.Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and systems, driving efficiencies in reporting and compliance.Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures; maintain thorough documentation and analysis for all financial activities.
QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a corporate or hospitality environment. Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is strongly preferred.Financial Proficiency: Command of accounts payable, payroll, debits and credits, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts receivables, bank reconciliation, and cash flow projections.Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and Microsoft Excel; experience with financial reporting and accounting software.Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of multi-state sales, use, and payroll tax regulations and compliance.Attributes: Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills, self-motivated, and a strong communicator.
