IT Associate Engineer, Security (Hybrid)
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.
Our Team
We are looking to hire a cyber security engineer with an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of cybersecurity methodologies.
Cyber security engineers are expected to have meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on tight deadlines.
To ensure success, a security engineer must display an excellent understanding of technology infrastructures using Firewalls, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, and Security Audits. Top candidates will be comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems, and troubleshooting of the network.
This role will sit in our Berlin, CT location.
Essential Functions:
Design and implement security software projects
Manage configurations of security applications
Test and document configurations and SOPs
Upgrade, maintain, and administer security systems
Provide technical support including troubleshooting and problem resolution
Implement disaster recovery strategies for security applications
Performance analysis and tuning
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Minimum of 1 year of related IT Security experience
Security Principles & Technology
Mastery knowledge in primary security products for: administration functions of primary security products; ability to integrate primary products into overall security program; access control systems; and security models, principles and concepts.
Maintenance & Monitoring
Mastery knowledge in primary security products for: monitoring performance & tuning; installation & configuration; and implementing customizations.
Mastery knowledge in security scanning tools.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Compensation and Benefits
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $68,550.00 and the market rate is $78,500.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
Working Conditions:
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
