SUMMARY:With ARK's mission of raising the bar on what relationships, reputation, and returns mean in hospitality as the focus, the Director of Sales leads sales and marketing efforts. The Director of Sales also determines and meets sales quotas and goals, creates sales plans, analyzes data, and works within a team in accordance with ARK Hospitality's vision, mission, and core values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned):Meet or exceed set goals: activity, productivity (revenue consumption), and booking goals.Initiate and follow up on all leads for the hotel in all market segments/territory through the brand, management company, and other third-party resources.Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program to include direct sales calls in the local market. May be required to travel to location, transport materials, and make presentations on short notice.Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market.Regularly contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies of the trace system in the sales automation system.Be familiar with all OTA sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR).Have full working knowledge of sales automation system, including (but not limited to) generating reports, entering business, blocking space, and building accounts.Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Breakfast, Marketplace, Guest Services, and Housekeeping.Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key amenities and benefits of the hotel and through site inspection of group booked rooms prior to arrival.Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, professional service-oriented manner.Participate as a team player with other key leaders and demonstrate hospitable behavior as a role model for all other team members.Develop trackable sales leads and LNR Production.Understand/Review hotels revenue forecasts, GOP, occupancy report, and ADR Goals.Represent hotels professionally at Community Events.Respond to RFPs in a timely, professional, and appropriate manner.Work with Revenue Manager on quoting rates (Groups and LNRs).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:High school or equivalent (Required).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

COMPUTER SKILLS:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Presentation software (PowerPoint).
