Overview of the Director, Brand Marketing and Content
As the Brand Marketing Director, you’ll be responsible for driving the strategic vision and execution of our brand's marketing strategy. Reporting to the VP of Ecommerce and Marketing, this role will lead a team dedicated to brand positioning, customer engagement, and campaign execution across digital and traditional channels. You will create and manage campaign creation, the editorial and content calendars, and partner cross-functionally with Merchants, Ecommerce and Retail teams to ensure product and channel initiatives are supported through marketing.
Responsibilities
Develop and Lead Brand Strategy
: Shape and implement an integrated brand strategy that aligns with business objectives, market trends, and customer insights. Own the brand voice, positioning, and overall customer experience.
Campaign Management
: Plan, Develop, and Execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, social media, print, and in-store. Ensure cohesive brand messaging and drive key performance indicators for each campaign.
Product Marketing
: Partner with Product teams to create and execute marketing strategies that support product launches and lifecycle management. Develop positioning and messaging that highlights product value, features, and benefits tailored to target customer segments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
: Work closely with Merchandising & Creative teams to ensure brand consistency and support product launches and seasonal branding initiatives. Collaborate with eCommerce and retail leaders to align marketing with traffic and sales strategies.
Team Leadership
: Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing direction, feedback, and growth opportunities. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to achieve team goals.
Analysis and Reporting
: Work cross-functionally with Ecommerce and CRM teams to facilitate the analysis and reporting of marketing initiatives as it relates to site traffic and revenue.
Market Insights and Research
: Use customer insights and market research to inform marketing strategies. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging digital tools to maintain the brand's competitive edge.
Budget Management
: Partner with VP and PR lead on brand marketing budget. Ensure resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities, maximizing ROI on all initiatives.
Criteria
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
8+ years of experience in brand marketing, preferably in a retail environment, with a proven track record in campaign development and brand strategy, and ability to drive business results.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, CRM, and other relevant marketing technology.
Additional Information:
Onsite Requirement: Ability to work onsite in our Portland office full-time, following state, local, and company guidelines.
